The start of the 2017-18 season is creeping ever-closer, as Forest today found out their opponents in the FA’s cup competitions.

In the FA Cup, Forest will make the short trip to Cheshunt to take on league rivals FC Romania. The winners of this tie will be away to Hackney Wick or Long Melford in the first qualifying round of the competition.

Forest enjoyed an excellent run in the Cup last year, beating Redbridge, Hoddesdon Town and Stotfold, before being narrowly defeated by Folkestone Invicta.

Our opponents fared less well, losing to Stanway Rovers in the Extra Preliminary Round.

In the Vase, Forest will make an almost 200 mile round-trip to Suffolk to take on Eastern Counties Division 1 side Framlingham Town. The winners of this tie will face Diss Town.

Quyam Shakoor will be looking to build a decent run for Forest, after just one Vase victory in the last three seasons (coming last season, against Hadleigh United).

Meanwhile, our under 18s will face Hullbridge Sports in the FA Youth Cup, with the winners facing a trip to either Ilford or Cheshunt.
