Forest face Wadham Lodge this Saturday in one of their biggest games of the season. Manager Ryan Maxwell took time out of training last night to speak to club secretary Andy Perkins.
Ryan was keen to build on what he started at the beginning of last season: “I think it’s unfinished business, last year starting so well has left a bad taste in my mouth. Going 10 wins on the trott is a tail of what could have been. When the opportunity came around to come back I jumped at it.”
But Forest may not have got their man, as competition for Maxwell’s services were in high demand: “I had a few bits of interest. As I get into the twilight of retirement I was definitely looking to get into a managerial role. I had one other concrete offer but I chose this one.
Maxwell spoke about some of the club’s recent signings, which you can read more about here.
And ahead of Saturday’s derby with Wadham Lodge, Maxwell knew what was expected of his team: “Saturday is a derby, and every derby should be treated like a derby, so I’ll make sure my players are more than ready for what’s in front of them. Anything less than a win for me isn’t on the cards. After Saturday’s performance, I’ve got to be looking to win.”
