Waltham Forest are delighted to announce Kem Kemal’s first signing of for the 2016-17 season.
Vastly experienced former Northern Ireland U21 international Ryan Maxwell will join the club when pre-season training starts next month.
Maxwell began his career as a youth player at Chelsea before moving onto Crystal Palace and Reading in 1999.
He made professional appearances with Reading, Hamilton Academical and Raith Rovers. He then played for Llanelli in Wales, where he played in the UEFA Cup.
The 32 year old midfielder had spells with a host of Conference and Conference South Clubs including Dagenham and Redbridge, Basingstoke Town, Margate, Bishop’s Stortford and Tonbridge Angels.
More recently, he has played for Waltham Abbey, Ware and Harlow Town, amongst other Essex and Herts Clubs. He ended last season with Heybridge Swifts.
Speaking of the new singing, Kemal said “Ryan worked with me and Tolga [Huseyin] at Ware and was part of the team last season that won 7 games back to back.
“Ryan joins us as a player-coach and we are very excited at the prospect of working with him again.
“This is a big singing for us and makes a statement about the club’s intent to compete this season
